I AM HONOURED to welcome you to the 2020/21 edition of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club yearbook.

I am filled with good spirits and enthusiasm as 1 read through this edition, and would like to thank the authors, the editorial teams and publisher St James House for "striving for perfection" and achieving it within these pages.

This year's publication celebrates 110 years of the Spirit of Ecstasy - a symbol of luxury and quality that has stood the test of time - from the mascot's early origins, to its creation, to how it continues to inspire artists and designers to this day. Rolls-Royce epitomises

"the best" and the Spirit of Ecstasy continues to represent just that the world over.

Global events continue to shape the new

"normal" and present us with new challenges. It's all the better, then, to see Rolls-Royce unveiling new models and working on such innovations as an electric car, which can be expected soon. Bentley Motors has already introduced the hybrid Bentayga - proof positive that luxury motoring and sustainability are not mutually exclusive.

A younger generation of enthusiasts is being drawn to the collective quality and elegance of Rolls-Royce and Bentley. These new owner-enthusiasts are charting their own journeys and helping guide the future of motorcar design and our beloved marques in the process, as the edgy Black Badge Cullinan and the thrilling EXP GT100, both featured within this book, go to show.

Our club welcomes Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners and admirers, with many of our members enjoying ownership of, and having an appreciation for, both marques. The pandemic has had an enormous impact on all aspects of our lives, and government restrictions have meant that our many events have had to be postponed. However, the club continues to provide a service to our members, with our vast archive enabling members to research the history of their own motorcars or delve deeper into Rolls-Royce and Bentley's illustrious past.

Our cars boast a history of engineering, design and performance excellence that has been the envy of the world for more than a hundred years. As a new, young generation discovers the past and the present of these motorcars, they are helping to steer the future of these marques - a future that looks very bright indeed.
