AS A TEAM OF YOUNG, HUNGRY HONDA ENGINEERS WORKED ON THE AMBITIOUS OVAL-PISTONED NR500 THROUGHOUT 1978, LITTLE DID THEY KNOW THEY WERE WRITING THE OPENING CHAPTER OF A STORY WHICH WOULD INVOLVE HUGE CHALLENGES, UNPRECEDENTED RACING GLORY AND THE CREATION OF SOME OF THE WORLD'S MOST POPULAR ROAD AND RACE MOTORCYCLES. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ONE OF THOSE ENGINEERS, AND THE LESSONS AND EXCITEMENT OF THAT PROJECT HAVE STAYED WITH ME THROUGHOUT MY CAREER.

Throughout the 30-year story of Honda's V4 four-strokes there has been a clear belief in the unique qualities of the V4 engine configuration which has led to an unequalled legacy of road and race machines, stretching from the NR500 right up to today's RC212V MotoGP challenger. Honda has never been afraid to embark on technological adventures and always sets demanding engineering goals. This is what drives Honda. It's the fuel of the company.

Nowhere is this passion better displayed than in the range of motorcycles powered by Honda V4 engines. This is the story of two-wheeled legends, of which Honda is very proud.
